I was as guilty as anyone of misusing demographic data when I worked as a community engagement consultant.

Sure, I'd look at ABS suburb data to understand a community.

But in a country as diverse as Australia, demographics can vary wildly from street to street.

Yet there was no tool that could give me that street-level view into community—and I knew I wasn't alone.

Over many years I've had countless conversations with professionals who wanted to be smarter about how they engaged, communicated, marketed, or researched.
